Organic Food Safety

I have heard many stories and different opinions on the safety of conventional and organic food.  I have heard both sides and I am going to try and lay down some thoughts on what exactly organic means.

Is organic food safe? 
Yes - I really don't see why people would make such a bogus claim.  Let's think about this.  When organic food is produced it is done so without any chemicals or artificial fertilizer.  Without saying anymore it already sounds safer.  Again, I am probably tooting my own horn by posting on this website which is selling organic food.  I really don't see why organic food would not be safe.
